What to Expect at Your Orthodontic Office Visit During the Covid 19 Pandemic

by | Oct 8, 2021 | Blog

We at Strathcona Orthodontics are following guidelines from the Canadian Association of Orthodontists (CAO) and the Alberta Dental Association and College (ADA&C)

Pre-screening

Be prepared to complete a COVID-19 screening, either written or verbal, prior to your appointment.

Be prepared to be flexible!

You may not have the pick of appointment times as the number of patients is limited in the clinic at one time, which means less appointments per day. This is to help keep safe social distancing and a safe space for you.

Please wear a mask!

Please wear a mask or face covering to your appointment. The staff in the office will also be wearing more gear than you normally see. Hand sanitizer will be used upon entrance and exit of the clinic.

Brush before you come!

Brushing stations are closed, and you will likely be asked to rinse with a safe, hydrogen peroxide oral rinse at the beginning of your appointment to clean your mouth of germs.

The reception area is no longer open for everyone.

You may be asked to wait in your car and called when it’s your turn or wait by yourself in the reception area, spaced 2 meters apart. As well, there will be no games, toys or books…so plan accordingly. If a parent is allowed, they will also be subject to all screening measures.

Your temperature will be taken before every appointment.

REST ASSURED! Dr. Aziz and staff are putting everyone’s health and safety first!
